New 2026 Lexus EV Redesign, Pictures, Engine   –   The 2026 Lexus EV is known for its subtle elegance, which is enhanced by its excellent interior materials, first-rate upholstery, and opulent ride. But since it’s Lexus’s first electric car, it’s not your usual model. Among the versions offered are the 201-horsepower EV 300e and the 308-horsepower all-wheel-drive EV. A large, snappy, and intuitive 14.0-inch touchscreen is a feature of both versions. With one significant exception, the electric car is a solid addition to Lexus’ SUV collection.

The EV ‘s actual performance in our range testing was EV en worse than that of competitor premium electric crossovers, with an estimated range of just 120 miles per charge. This renders the EV far less ideal for road trips when contrasted with rivals such as the Cadillac Lyriq and the BMW iX, both of which boast projected driving ranges over 300 miles per charge. Exterior & Interior

SEV eral buttons and switches on the dashboard and doors have been replaced with a huge infotainment screen in the EV ‘s cabin, which emphasizes simplicity. While both Tesla and Polestar have utilized comparable methods in their electric car models, the results have been somewhat different. This electric car utilizes a 63.4 kWh battery pack, similar to the Subaru Solterra and Toyota bZ4X. The advertised 220 miles is for the basic 18-inch wheels, howEV er when equipped with the larger 20-inch wheels, the range lowers to 196 miles. When compared to other models, the 6.6 kW onboard charger falls short, and the electric vehicle is limited to using 150 kW DC fast-charging connections. As a result of its slightly larger battery capacity, the EPA estimates that the EV 300e will have a range of around 266 miles when completely charged. With the 20-inch wheels instead of the regular 18s, the rating drops to 226 miles.

Engine & Performance

An electric motor of 201 horsepower is mounted on the EV 300e’s front axle. A two-motor setup provides the electric vehicle’s 308 horsepower to each of its four wheels. Our test track time for the electric car was 4.6 seconds, and it hit 60 miles per hour. If a yoke isn’t your thing, you can always go with the conventional circular wheel that will be the norm. In addition, Lexus has rEV ealed that a yoke-style steering wheel equipped with steer-by-wire technology will be offered as a future option. The yoke and its steer-by-wire technology were part of a prototype electric car that we got to try out. Although it required some adjustment, we EV entually discovered that it improved our handling.

With the regular 18-inch wheels, the electric car has greater official fuel economy ratings (115 MPGe city and 98 MPGe highway). By including the optional 20s, those numbers drop to 102 MPGe in the city and 87 MPGe on the interstate. With options, the top price for a 2025 Lexus EV is $65,580, with a starting price of $55,150. The power-adjustable steering column, all-wheel drive, adaptive cruise control, panoramic sunroof, and other niceties are there EV en in the cheapest Premium model.
