New 2026 Lexus UX Redesign and Update Plan
Exterior and Interior
According to Lexus, the UX gets 41 mpg when driving with AWD and 43 mpg while driving with front-wheel drive. Efficiency ratings from the EPA have not yet been released. With five seats and 17.1 cubic feet of luggage capacity behind the back seat, the UX is a subcompact crossover. Even for this class, the back legroom is barely 33 inches. It is a tidy 177 inches in length and 72 inches in width on the outside.
That’s about in line with its competitors from Audi, BMW, and Volvo, however, its measurements of rear legroom, 33 inches, and cargo space,17.2 cubic feet, are not impressive results. The UX is not recommended for towing. New 2026 Lexus UX MSRP

Engine and Performance
The UX with front-wheel drive has a front electric motor and a 2.0-liter gas four-cylinder engine. A rear electric motor is included with the optional all-wheel drive configuration ($1,570). Both systems now have 196 horsepower, up from 181 horsepower before, according to Lexus. To conserve cargo space, the new lithium-ion battery pack is situated behind the back seat.
The UX is only offered in hybrid form that incorporates an efficiency-focused 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with port and direct fuel injection and a motor on the front transaxle for a combined 181 horsepower while the continuously-variable transmission helps route power to the ground through the wheels.
An optional $1,400 all-wheel-drive system adds another motor to the rear axle. Weight-saving technology such as enhanced cooling systems, improved battery performance, and aluminum panels help the front-wheel-drive UX earn an EPA-estimated 42 miles per gallon combined while the all-wheel-drive version returns 39 mpg combined.
